CVS

Thank you for your e-mail regarding CVS/pharmacy coupon policy. I do apologize that each CVS/pharmacy you go to tells you something different.

Our registers are set to allow one CVS coupon and one manufacturer coupon per item.  However, the staff should be allowing customers to use Extra Bucks in combination with other CVS coupons since these are coupons you have “earned.”

In addition, they should be allowing the use of one “offer at the register” coupon which would be an open offer of $3 off of $15 or a certain dollar amount off of a specific item.  Since our registers are programmed to only accept two coupons (one CVS, one manufacturer) per item if the number of coupons exceed the items purchased a member of management will need to assist the cashier in processing the coupons.

CVS/pharmacy will accept coupons printed from the Internet.  They must have a legible barcode that scans at the register.  If the coupon does not scan at the register, the cashier should politely inform you that we are unable to accept your coupon.  We do not allow manual overrides at the register for coupons printed from the Internet.  CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles.

When an item is on sale for buy one, get one free and the customer has a buy one get one free coupon for that same product, the coupon will be accepted and both items will essentially become free (plus any applicable sales tax).

Also, two manufacturer coupons can be used on a buy one get one free purchase as long as two items are scanned at the register.  The system logic sees two items scanned and will allow two coupons.

I have already notified the District Manager of that area concerning this matter and he will be speaking with the Store Manager and staff directly about the coupon policy.

Again, thank you for contacting us.  I hope this is helpful.  We value your patronage and look forward to serving you again soon.

Sincerely,

Kerri

Dian,

I didn’t see anything in the CVS Coupon policy about using other people’s ECB Coupons.
My dad WILL NOT use his ECB coupons. Even though I have tried to explain to him that they are very much like money, he’s an older man and wasn’t raised to use coupons so he just thinks it’s a waste of time :( . So if I give the cashier my CVS Card then give them a ECB coupon with his name on it, will it be accepted?

@Jo Ann: Not unless they push it thru and that’s unlikely. What I do with my brother’s, he’s the same way, is he has the CVS card and I have his key ring tag and I use the ECB’s with his key ring tag.
Good Luck!

Dian,

SO the way that it reads is that you can use two buy one get one free coupons at time of purchase and get both items free. Is that the way that you read that? I attempted to do this at my local CVS and they told me that I was unable to do so. Therefore I contacted customer care and they have told me that I am not able to do that. It complete contradicts itself. Please if you know more information about this let me know.
Thanks.

@Nashon: You can use 1 Buy One Get One FREE on a Buy One Get One FREE Sale Item and get both items for FREE. You cannot use 2 Buy One Get One FREE coupons and Get 2 Items FREE.

1 – Buy One Get One FREE SALE
+
1 – Buy One Get One FREE COUPON
=
2 FREE items

It can definitely be confusing. Does that help? Feel free to ask me about any questions you may have.
Thanks!

Thanks it sure does. I also contacted CVS and they explained that I could use a BOGO and another man. Q. So I have a BOGO Head and Sholders and I have a $3 off 2 blinky and will be able to use them together.

Okay, Im new at this and very overwehlmed. I do not understand the way this works on cvs. I never shop there or walgreens. I watched your video, I guess Im a lil slow….. ex: 8/1 3 /5 jiffy peanut butter buy 6 use cpn $1/2 equalls $4/6. when you say the ebs is same as cash, is it for after for the next purchase? How often do you stay on top of this? Soooo many questions for this new stay at home mom of five.

@Paige: Welcome!! Feel free to ask me anything, anytime!
The ECB’s are good on your next purchase – Where I live they say they never expire… but I know that some stores do go by the expiration dates on each one.
How often do you stay on top of this? Sorry I don’t know exactly what you’re asking there, just re=phrase it for me – I’m the one that’s slow sometimes! :-)

And did I miss another question?
I’m here feel free to ask me!
Thanks!

I live in Pensacola Florida. My husband is in the navy. I shop at the commisary bc there is no Kroger’s. There is no tripple coupon here and off post is too exspensive. I saw a lady in the commissary with a binder of coupons and at check out she had two buggys full and only paid 67.00. I asked her how she did it. She gave me Eastern shore mom site. No one has responded to any of my questions, sooooo after 6 hours of research I found you and you are the most informative! Okay , Im just excited bc I have been so lost. Ok, the question was what is really out of pocket and when do I use the ECB?

Gilette Razors (Select) $9.79
- $4/1 8/1 P&G
+ Earn $5 in extra care bucks
= $.79

Head & Shoulders Shampoo $4.99
- B1G1 7/11 SmartSource
+ Earn $1 in extra care bucks WYB 1 (limit 3 per card)
= $2.99/2

Sobe Life Water B1G1
- B1G1 PRINTABLE
= FREE (varies by area on if they accept this coupon)

Skippy Peanut Butter 3/$5
- $1/2 8/1 RedPlum

Deal Idea

Buy (6) Skippy Peanut Butter 3/$5
- (3) $1/2 8/1 RedPlum
+ Earn $3 in extra care bucks WYB $10 worth (before coupons)
= $4/6

@Paige: For the list you gave me the out of pocket would be as follows:
$5.79 – Gillette Razors
$4.99 – Head & Shoulders
$0.00 – SoBe
$7.00 – Skippy
Total OOP: $17.78

Receive $9 in ECB’s
Saved: $11.99 PLUS whatever the SoBe’s Would Have Cost!

Overall, not a bad deal!

You could buy the Razors alone and use the $5 ECB to pay for the Head & Shoulders making them FREE use the $1 ECB from the Head & Shoulders on the Skippy and Pay $6 OOP for those – Total: $11.79 OOP
or
Buy the Razors pay $5.79 OOP and get the $5 ECB and use it to pay for the Skippy – then you would pay $2 OOP for the Skippy then use the $3 ECB from the Skippy to pay for the H&S making that $1.99 OOP – Total: $9.78 OOP
or
Buy the Skippy $7 OOP use the $3 ECB on the Razors and pay $2.79 OOP then use the $5 ECB from the razors to purchase the H&S – making that FREE – Total: $9.79 PLUS $1 ECB to take home

Looks like the third one is the best…do you see a different Scenario? Each item will be purchased in a different transaction to be able to get and use the ECB’s

Make sense?
Let me know!

Paige,

You can also try Publix. I know alot of people who do the matchups for them and get tons of groceries for cheap. In fact a girl I met online went there and got a little over 200.00 worth of groceries for less than 1.00. Just research Publix coupon matchups in google.
