Target Price Matching Policy

Target Coupon policy

The below guidelines apply to all coupons accepted at Target stores (color checkout coupons, Internet coupons, mobile coupons, mailed coupons, coupons from newspapers and magazines, etc.).

No more than one manufacturer coupon, one Target coupon (mobile coupons are Target coupons), and one Cartwheel℠ offer can be combined per item (unless prohibited by either coupon).

  • We reserve the right to accept, refuse or limit use of any coupon.
  • All valid coupons must be presented to cashier during checkout.
  • Item purchased must match coupon description (brand, size, quantity, color, flavor, etc.).
  • Limit of 4 identical coupons per household, per day (unless otherwise noted on coupon).
  • Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds value of item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
  • We can’t give cash back if face value of coupon is greater than purchase value of item.
  • All applicable sales taxes are paid by guest at full value of item.
  • Returns of items purchased using manufacturer coupons may receive coupon value returned in the form of a Target GiftCard.
  • Target coupons aren’t refundable.
  • If a coupon is redeemable in stores, there will be a barcode on it.

Exclusions:

    • Coupons are void if copied, scanned, transferred, purchased, sold, prohibited by law, or appear altered in any way.
    • We can’t accept coupons from other retailers or coupons for products not carried at Target.
    • Some items may not be available at all stores.
    • We don’t accept expired coupons.
    • We don’t accept Canadian coupons in our U.S. stores.
    • We regularly monitor the Coupon Information Corporation (CIC) website for counterfeit coupons.
    • We don’t accept counterfeit coupons.

What is the difference between “per purchase” and “per transaction” when using coupons?

One coupon per purchase means you’re using one coupon per item being purchased. You can use multiples of the same coupon as long as each coupon has a matching item.

One coupon per transaction means you can use only one specific coupon per store transaction. You can’t use more than one same coupon, even if you’re buying multiple items.

What is a manufacturer coupon?

A manufacturer coupon is a coupon, including bottle caps, issued by a manufacturer that offers a free item or a specific amount off the purchase price of one or more of a manufacturer’s products. You will see “Manufacturer Coupon” printed on the coupon.

How can I tell if Target will accept my manufacturer coupon?

Target will accept your manufacturer coupon, as long as printed limitations and requirements are met. Keep in mind:

    • Manufacturer coupons can be accepted at the register even if they don’t clearly indicate who the manufacturer is, or if they indicate the name of another retailer.
    • If a coupon states “Manufacturer Coupon,” it’s redeemable anywhere (including Target), even if the coupon states, “Redeemable at Kroger, Cub, etc.” (or any other retailer).
    • Manufacturer coupons that are found on the Internet and printed are accepted.
    • Target doesn’t accept manufacturer “rebate” coupons.

What is a store coupon?

A store coupon is issued by Target. It offers a free item or a specific amount off the purchase price of one or more products. You can identify a store coupon because “Target Coupon” is printed on the coupon.

Can I use a Target coupon that is mailed to a specific market area, such as a new store market, at any Target store?

Yes, you can use these specific Target coupons at any Target store.

Will I receive coupons only once a month?

You’ll receive new coupons as they’re available, but no more than 5 per month. You won’t be sent the same coupons a second time.

Can I use Spanish or bilingual coupons at any Target store nationwide?

Yes, Spanish or bilingual coupons are accepted at any Target store nationwide.

Can I print out Target coupons from the Internet and use them at my Target store?

Yes, store coupons found on the Internet and printed are accepted. What should I keep in mind if I want to redeem a category/department or storewide coupon? If you’re redeeming more than one category/department or storewide coupon, you must meet purchase requirements for each coupon individually. The percent-off coupons will apply to all qualifying items in transaction. No other same category/department or storewide coupon will apply.

What restrictions apply to my Buy One, Get One free (BOGO) coupon?

BOGO coupons can’t be combined (i.e., you can’t use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, use of one BOGO coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to you and the second item will be discounted by its full retail price. Additionally:

  • A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed toward the purchase price of the first item.
  • If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon may be used on the first item.
  • If a manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

Will I be able to use my Internet (print-at-home) coupons at a Target store?

Your coupons will be accepted if they are valid Internet coupons and contain a clear and scannable bar code. Target does not accept Internet coupons for free items that don’t include specific purchase requirements.

How do I know the value and eligibility of a coupon?

Coupons will state their value, item eligibility, and where they’re accepted (such as in store or online). When you print coupons, the top of the coupon will indicate if it’s a Target web coupon or manufacturer’s coupon. If a coupon is accepted on Target.com, it will include an 8-character promo code that you enter during checkout (for example, TGTXXXXX). This promo code is often found on the front of the coupon.

How is the sales tax calculated when I use a coupon?

The sales tax is calculated by using the full value of your item.

Can I use any coupon on Target.com?

We reserve the right to accept, refuse, or limit the use of any coupon. Target doesn’t accept the following:

  • Expired coupons/promo codes
  • Internet coupons/promo codes for free items with no purchase requirements
  • Coupons/promo codes for products not carried at Target
  • Store-only coupons (that have no online promo code)
  • Counterfeit coupons listed on the website of the Coupon Information Center.
  • Coupons/promo codes for items that don’t match the coupon description (brand, size, quantity, color, flavor, etc.)

I want a refund on an item I bought with a coupon. Will the refund include the amount of the coupon?

If you used a manufacturer’s coupon to purchase an item and decide to return that item, you’ll receive a refund for the amount you paid for the item plus the amount of the coupon. The amount of the coupon may be refunded in the form of a Target GiftCard.

If you used a Target coupon to purchase an item and decide to return that item, you’ll receive a refund for the price of the item, minus the coupon value.
