Hi there! I was just wondering if you could explain or tell me where on your site I could find out how to tell exactly what your saying about the coupons… for example..what would this stand for? use $2/2 6/27 RP – Final $1.50 each buy 2

2 Dian July 17, 2010 at 7:19 pm

@Christine: You can always look at the Coupon Lingo in the Menu Bar at the top of the page for more explanations.

But, to answer your question: use $2/2 6/27 RP – Final $1.50 each buy 2

Use the $2 off 2 coupon found in the June 27th Sunday Coupon Insert Named Red Plum – when you use that coupon the final price of the product will be $1.50 each, but since the coupon is $2 off 2 you have to buy 2.

Does that make sense?
Let me know if you have any other questions!

My WalMart has Lever 2000 2pk on sale for $1. Match it with the 25 cent coupon out of yesterday’s paper (8/1). I think it was a RP insert. Final price: 75 cents.

LA Looks hair gel is $1.94. Match it with $1 coupon in yesterday’s paper and its 94 cents. Thats 52% off.

4 Dian August 2, 2010 at 1:53 pm

@Sarah: Very Nice! Thanks Sarah! Those will make the list for sure!

5 Steven Fitzgerald October 5, 2010 at 5:16 pm

Hello Dian,

I wanted to let you know that I tried to do this deal and similar at both Wal-Mart and Target and got shot down.

“Olay Body Wash – Travel Sized – Sale $.97 use $1.50 9/26 Proctor & Gamble – Final Price $ FREE”

The coupons were originals, but the POS would not scan them so they were rejected.

The managers I spoke too said that the POS is programmed not to accept the coupons for the travel size products. We talked about the coupon language referring to excluding “Trial Size”, but did not mention “Travel Size”. Both stores said that they consider them to be the same thing.

I noticed for the first time this week that coupons are starting to come out with the language “Excludes Trial and Travel Size”.

This may portend the demise of the “Travel Size” freebies that we all have come to enjoy.

6 Dian October 5, 2010 at 5:21 pm

@Steven Fitzgerald: Yes, they have recently started adding that language, sometimes they scan and sometimes they won’t right now. It’s kind of hit and miss from store to store!
Thanks for letting us know!

7 mary September 26, 2011 at 12:08 am

you can also use the 2.00 off 1 crest complete coupon on the trial size, i used 24 of them on travel size yesterday and they gave me back 24.72 in cash awesome money maker if you have a few of those

8 Linda May 29, 2013 at 6:49 am

But see it’s when people get so greedy and do this, is when it makes it bad for others.

9 Sarah June 16, 2011 at 11:54 am

If companies were wise they would let us have the free trial sized or very reduced trial sized during this tough time for our country it gets the next generation hooked on the item and when times get easier folks go back to buying the larger sizes. Devotion to your item is what a sale is all about.

10 Veronica October 10, 2010 at 5:38 pm

Dian, I am so fustrated with my Wal-Mart right now! I’ve shopped and used coupons there for at least two years now with no problems. I tried to use the $1 off Tide coupon for a travel size and the lady at the cash register called her manager. Manager, called her supervisor, and I was told I could not use a coupon that was worth more than the product. I called corporate. Today I got a call from the manager and she said she I could use the coupon this time, but afterwards, I could no longer use a coupon that was more than the product. I asked her about using the $1 off coupon on the gain dishwashing liquid, which is not a travel sized item, and she said NO. Ugggggh! Sorry, I had to vent to someone……any suggestions?

11 Dian October 10, 2010 at 6:01 pm

@Veronica: Find another Walmart! lol! Sorry, their policy does not state what was told to you. Normally I make sure I buy more so that the overage is covered in product. So, to use the Gain coupons for $1/1 – if the Gain were $.97, I would buy gum or candy – usually for my son – to cover the overage and then there wouldn’t be any confusion on the part of the cashier.
I have had people tell me they go thru any line they see a teenage boy working – because they don’t seem to inspect the coupons.
I personally think the manager, cashier, supervisor and the customer service agent were all wrong! People do this everyday at Walmart and it’s fine. In fact, not allowing it causes them to lose money.
If they would mark the coupon down or take the coupon at full value – they get paid for that coupon either way – so If you don’t purchase your products – because they won’t take the coupon – then they lose money! It’s that simple – so i think they were all wrong in what they told you. I think they were all just backing each other up without checking anything out.
I was serious though, I would find another Walmart – I have 5 near me – or try the “lackadaisical” cashier theory…
Wish I could help more – they just seem to make up rules all the time with no basis!
Sorry you had a hard time, I understand the frustration completely!

12 veronica October 11, 2010 at 5:28 am

I did have other groceries, they just didn’t want to give in. I only have one Wal-Mart nearby, but can go to another when I make my trip into town. Thanks, I will try to look for the cashiers that usually take my coupons without question.

13 Dian October 11, 2010 at 8:41 am

@veronica: Good luck! Some days I feel like they are just making it up as they go!
Let me know how it goes for you!

14 Sarah February 11, 2011 at 5:14 pm

Sometimes if you take the Walmart coupon policy with you , then they will allow but only for the price of the item. Example $1.00 off the Gain dish liquid they will adjust down to .99 or .97 which ever happens to be the price of the dish soap on the shelf that week.

This is likely the best you can hope for.

I don’t agree with any store marking down a coupon as the store gets paid the full price of the coupon plus an additional handling free.

I tell all my friends shop at Target , Target takes all manufc. coupons and Target coupons they offer low prices and they treat customers right plus Target gives back to the community which if you know about Walmart. Walmarts do not give back to the communities they take from community (they pretend to give back but they do not) Take your dollars where they are appreciated! Go to Target !

15 Dian February 11, 2011 at 5:25 pm

@Sarah: Sarah you are exactly right about them getting paid! Do you work for Target? lol
I like them, too!

16 Sarah June 16, 2011 at 12:00 pm

I do not work for Target.

I was on a PTA and got tasked at the holidays with asking both Walmart and Target to give to the needy.
Target gave us nice stuff. Walmart gave us items that were so broken and damaged they should have been labeled trash!

Walmart takes from community they get all kinds of tax breaks.

Target has a number of programs for schools, sholarships etc..
They give back to community.
Plus Target let’s you use a Target coupon and a Manufc. coupon lots of free or really cheap items.

I like stores that give back to where I live.

Target wins for me and I am not paid to say it.

17 Seraiah Freeman February 13, 2011 at 10:50 am

I agree completely about stores adjusting down but claiming the full value. I do not know why this is legal. More coupons should probably have a write in value, specifically because stores do this.

18 Marie May 26, 2011 at 7:55 pm

I know I run also in this kind of scenarios with some cashierswho just don’t know their coupon policy. At one time one cashier was about to scan my coupons and said how come the coupon was higher than the item I was taking. I just mention it says in their coupon policy that the coupon may exceed the amount of value item. SHe was surprised and scan them with no problem. Just take ur coupon policy or go to other Wal-Mart

19 Seraiah October 21, 2010 at 2:47 am

Yes they basically can make it up as they go along. Walmart does not actually have a real universal coupon policy… they have one in print, but I’ve heard from many people that once you call, corporate tells you the final say is up to the store manager, regardless of what the coupon policy says (real fair). This has come up mostly revolving around internet coupons, since so many Walmarts refuse to take the now (due to fraud). Some take them if they scan, and there is a lot of both confusion and fear among cashiers. They do get in trouble (like job loss trouble) if they take coupons they shouldn’t have.
It’s really sad.. now I prefer originals over printed coupons… I get so nervous trying to se printed ones, because so many stores in my area don’t take them anymore, and sadly I can’t blame them. Better they exclude some than all coupons.

20 Dian October 21, 2010 at 10:02 am

@Seraiah: My Walmart will take them and my Kroger won’t take all of them – just some. Kroger stores definitely leave it up to the manager’s discretion, but, I have been able to “fight through” and get Walmart to do what the printed coupon policy is, you just have to remain calm, be kind , and stand your ground – at least that’s what works for me.

21 sheila November 5, 2010 at 5:25 pm

I wanted to let people know of a problem I ran into with a newly opened Walmart in Arlington, Tx (on HWY 287 and Little Rd). I presented my Internet coupons up at the reg and the cashier read them and told me that they (this particular store anyhow) was not allowed to accept coupons with a remit address in Del Rio, Tx… that they would not be reimbursed for them, that they were only allowed to accept Internet coupons with a remit address of El Paso. This is good to know!

22 Dian November 5, 2010 at 6:08 pm

@sheila: Dian November 5, 2010 at 5:51 pm [edit]
@sheila: I am calling the store – I’ll get right back to you…

3 Dian November 5, 2010 at 5:59 pm [edit]
The store confirmed what the cashier said I am on the phone with corporate now. Hang in there.

4 Dian November 5, 2010 at 6:04 pm [edit]
Well, I knew this is how they deal with it, I was just hoping to get a little info.
Walmart corporate customer service is pretty useless – they take your info and pass it back to the store manager for a call back. So, I will wait for a call back – usually it happens the next day – we will see. As soon as I get the call and some kind of answer I will let you know!

23 Kimber February 3, 2011 at 2:33 am

I was told by the cashier at my local Wal-Mart that donot accept Smart Source Internet coupons?

24 Dian February 3, 2011 at 10:06 am

@Kimber: That’s a new one! Here is their official policy – as you can see it says nothing about that: WalMart Coupon Policy. I think she was mistaken.
I would talk to the manager and then to corporate if need be.
I am sorry you were told that I know how frustrating that can be!
I hope this helps!
Let me know if I can do anything!

25 TJ March 14, 2011 at 6:43 pm

The Glade PlugIn Scented Oil Lasting Impression holder it looks as if the coupon has reset itself at Its for $3.00 off. At my Walmart it is $4.88-$3.00 makes it $1.88 which is a heck of a price considering the orignal price is $7.98…cha-ching

26 Dian March 14, 2011 at 7:14 pm

TJ » Great! Thanks for the heads up!

27 Victoria March 18, 2011 at 10:35 pm

My Wal-Mart has their Nice-n-Easy Gray Solution hair dye on clearance for $1 and I bought 11 and used 11 $2 off coupons and got $1 overage. (Yes, I left quite a few.) Another Wal-Mart here had their Loreal hair dye on clearance for $1 each and I bought 6 of them and used 3 $5/2 coupons and got $15 overage! ($3 per coupon) She didn’t look too happy, but she gave it to me (well, took it off my other items, that is.) Wal-Mart has had some great clearances lately. Be sure to check them out.

28 Dian March 18, 2011 at 10:40 pm

Nice deals!! Thanks for the heads up!!

29 Victoria March 19, 2011 at 12:07 am

They also had Suave conditioner for 25 cents (tangerine) and Always pads for $2. Perfect 10 was on clearance as well, but I can’t remember the price, cheap though. Good luck!

30 Dian March 19, 2011 at 9:07 am

Great! Thanks!

31 Meg April 17, 2011 at 9:37 pm

Thanks for all the help Dian. Today my friends and I made a Walmart trip. We purchased 62 items that totaled $79. When it was all said and done, after coupons, Walmart owed us $1.59 and we paid nothing!!!

32 Dian April 17, 2011 at 9:53 pm

Meg » Yay!!! What a fun trip!! I LOVE it!

33 Meg April 17, 2011 at 11:28 pm

I did take a pic of my receipt. Two of my friends helped so we split everything we got 3 ways. Would u like me to submit that pic?

34 Dian April 18, 2011 at 9:40 am

Meg » Sure!

35 Caroline Greer April 18, 2011 at 9:04 am

The similac coupon specifies that it is only for the large size powder…(went there over the weekend).

36 Dian April 18, 2011 at 9:46 am

Caroline Greer » Here is a link to the coupon I used. It was for $5 off any 1 Similac product.
There was a $5 off and a $3 off and they were both for any 1 Similac product.

37 Meg April 20, 2011 at 10:46 pm

I went to Walmart today to pick up some more Nivea for Women to donate to our local Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. While I was there, I found Always ultra thin panty liners (20-22 ct) for $0.93. I had a coupon for $1 off any One Always Pantiliner that I received with a free sample in the mail, expiring 6/30/11. This was a $0.07 MONEYMAKER. I picked up some of these for the women in need as well. Found these and thought I would pass it along if anyone has the coupon!
Happy Shopping!

38 Dian April 20, 2011 at 10:48 pm

Great! Thanks for sharing!! Also, thanks for reminding everyone to donate to local shelters, too!

39 Meg April 20, 2011 at 11:40 pm

No Problem!
Also, upon further investigation, I found an Always coupon in the Proctor and Gamble Everyday Savings booklet for $1 off any Always product. The coupon does not specify item or size limit. Thought I would add that for those that did not receive a sample like I did.

40 Holly May 1, 2011 at 8:34 pm

What’s the zip code to get the coupon for Shout wipes?

41 Dian May 1, 2011 at 8:41 pm

Looks like they are all gone – most either reset or got changed today since it’s the beginning of a new month!

42 Holly May 1, 2011 at 9:28 pm

Thanks Dian! I’m new to this and still trying to figure out the timing and such!

43 Dian May 1, 2011 at 9:29 pm

You’re very welcome!

44 Sarah August 11, 2011 at 10:12 pm

What days do the Walmart sales run on? (ie…Sun-Sat) I just had a horrible nite at Walmart. This was my first time couponing there. I made a list using the deals you listed and NOTHING was on sale. I was wondering if the sales had ended already. I used the current list you have up and only found one item that was on sale. I know prices vary by store but nothing was even close to being on sale. I had a bunch of items on my list too: Degree, Aquafresh, A&H Baking Soda, Mom’s Best Oatmeal, Country Crock, Magnum Ice Cream, Wish Bone, Kraft Dressing, J&J Bandages and more. I wasnt surprised that there were not peelies on Kraft or that some of the prices varied but for example the cheapest Aquafresh was $2.18 (not $0.97), cheapest Country Crock (smallest container) $1.98 (not $0.98), cheapest Mom’s Best Oatmeal was $1.78 (not $1). Everything was significantly higher. The only thing I got that was on sale was Ban deoderant ($1.97-$1Q) and the Kikkoman Soy sauce was $1.42 but when I got home I realized I was charged $1.78 so I paid 78 cents after Q. I was so frustrated b/c then I was trying to change my meals I had planned out and not spend so much. It was a disaster. I might as well not had a list at all. My budget was $50 and somehow I spent $120. I was shocked. So did I miss the sales or is the Walmart in my area just way pricier? Any suggestions for next time?

45 Dian August 11, 2011 at 10:19 pm

Sarah » I am sorry, you had such a bad experience. Walmart stores vary in price even across the street from each other! These prices are not necessarily sale prices – most are the everyday price. Always check the smallest size of the product for the best price. Some of the items can be found in the travel section.
Don’t give up,

46 cScrapbook September 4, 2011 at 7:10 pm

I’m confused about how on the Dannon Oikos Yogurt Sale $1.00, if you use a Q for
- $.50/2 Dannon Oikos or Stoneyfield Oikos Organic Yogurt Cups, 5.3 oz (exp 09/18/11) SS 8/21
:fr: 5.3 oz Dannon Oikos Yogurt Coupon Parade Magazine issue 8/21/11

how does it end up being Free?

(I don’t know what :fr: means, so maybe that’s where I’m getting lost.)

47 Dian September 4, 2011 at 7:34 pm

cScrapbook » thank you for pointing that out. The coupon from the Parade magazine was free which is what fr should have said instead of fr. Thanks again!

48 angie September 8, 2011 at 8:09 am

Hi first off I love your site. I found at Walmart a febreeze noticable warmer for 2.97 and had a $3.00 off q from the 8-28 pg I got 4 of them because there is a limit on the coupon. Just thought I’d share

49 Dian September 8, 2011 at 9:08 am

angie » Thanks for sharing!! That’s a great find!

50 Crystina November 8, 2011 at 2:52 pm

Check out the clearance aisles in Wal-mart too. They had Dawn dishsoap on there for $.75 and with the $.50 off coupon I got 24 for only$6. They hide them all over the store (on the back endcap next to the pet section for the soap). If my kids hadn’t have needed the bathroom I would’ve never found it.

51 Dian November 8, 2011 at 2:56 pm

Crystina » Great tip! Thanks!

52 Samantha December 21, 2011 at 11:31 am

do you update these? I keep coming back to this page and it never has any new information!

53 Dian December 21, 2011 at 11:50 am

Samantha » I update them every Monday. I leave in what’s still good, remove what’s not, and add new each week. I post them on the homepage and they update here. I just realized I had not been adding the newest to this page – thanks for letting me know!
There wasn’t much new this week since there are no new coupon inserts until 1/1/12
Thanks again!

54 Amy March 16, 2012 at 1:01 am

If anyone is in North TX (Grand Prairie, Duncanville, or Lewisville), Terry’s (Hispanic supermarket) has Louisiana Fish Fry on sale for $.88 each through March 20th. With the coupon $1.00/2 from 3/4, they would be $.38 each and you can price match this at Walmart.

55 Dian March 16, 2012 at 9:34 am

Amy » Awesome! thanks!

56 Betty Cripe April 26, 2012 at 5:54 pm

Like to get stuff free

57 If it's FREE! September 19, 2012 at 10:16 am

There are two Dawn(regular) coupons out there that expire at the end of this month, but can still be redeemed for little to nothing!

12.6oz Dawn-NonConcentrated is $.97 on the very bottom shelf, you can use the $.50 off ANY one coupon(insert) = $.47

8/10oz Dawn Original is $1.27 & you can use the $1 off ANY coupon(insert)= $.27

58 Dian September 19, 2012 at 10:20 am

If it’s FREE! » Great! Thanks!

63 mike December 10, 2012 at 12:42 am

mary where you live that they do cash back

64 Dian December 10, 2012 at 12:46 am

mike » Walmart Stores Nationwide Coupon Policy is to give cash back.
“If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.”
I hope that helps!

65 Livi May 4, 2013 at 8:08 am

I’m not sure if this has been posted yet, but the Ronzoni pasta, you can get it for .50 a box at Ingles (if around you) or at Target. I got 6 of them! :)

66 Dian May 4, 2013 at 8:15 am

Livi » Great! Thanks for sharing! Nice find!

67 teresa June 13, 2013 at 3:18 pm

Hi Dian I am very very New to couponing can you please explain the Ban Deodorant to me???

68 Dian June 13, 2013 at 3:26 pm

teresa » Sure!
Ban Deodorant Sale $1.97
- Ban Deodorant – $2.00/2 – (exp 07/13/13) (SS 6/9)
Final: $0.97

The Ban is on sale at Walmart for $1.97 each. Buy 2 of them and use the $2 off 2 Ban Deodorant coupons found int he June 9th Smart Source coupon insert from that week’s Sunday paper, and you will pay $.97 each for them.

I hope that helps!

69 teresa June 13, 2013 at 9:05 pm

it does thank you I have 1 more ?when it says limit of 4 like coupons per household example for the head and shoulder does that mean I can buy 4 with this one coupon???

70 Dian June 15, 2013 at 7:25 pm

teresa » I am so sorry I didn’t see this before now!
4 like coupons means if you have 4 of the same (like) coupon then you can buy 4 – but they won’t allow you to use 5.
I hope that helps!

71 Donna Holder August 15, 2013 at 11:04 am

72 patricia September 14, 2013 at 10:11 pm

hello im newbie and i love shopping at walmart. how many coupons should I use to make free like 10 in each item and total would be free. the things I forgot my math people calculate and use a lot coupon for example colgate (10),shave gel (9) and they know how much they gonna spend is there website or something to know how calculate the subtotal-taxes-percent of coupon and total. because I get nervous front the register and get huge full price and later I have to tell me to void it. thanks

73 Dian September 14, 2013 at 10:16 pm

Hi Patricia,

79 Linda Redmond March 23, 2014 at 8:26 am

I cannot find these coupons on SmartSource of Redplum. What am I doing wrong?

80 Dian March 23, 2014 at 10:12 am

Which ones in particular are you having trouble finding? Most of the coupons on this list are from the Sunday Paper Coupon Inserts. Let me know which ones and I can help you.

81 Kathe April 14, 2014 at 11:11 pm

Very helpful thanks!!

82 SUSAN May 2, 2014 at 8:19 pm

Where is there a wal mart that doubles coupons. My wal mart doesn’t. And some of the things u say are free aren’t free. Wet N wild make up for examaple our wal marts don’t carry it here in PA where I’m at. Or some of those coupons for deo or crayola never free. But I give them little of my business cause Im not carrying a flyer around just to price match and only get face value on coupons when I CAN GO TO THE LOCAL STRORE,and atleast double the coupons.

83 Dian May 2, 2014 at 9:15 pm

Yes prices are different store to store even in the same town with Walmart. Walmart stores in Utah and a couple of other places double coupons, but not very many at all.
I hope that helps!

85 Danielle June 7, 2014 at 9:54 am

Hi, I just wanted to add that out here in San Diego General Mills cereal and Nature Valley granola bars are on sale for $1.49. Price matching at Walmart and using my coupons I get the cereal for $.99 a box and with the great coupons I found on Ebay I will get the granola bars for only $.25 cents a box!!! Looking forward to stocking up!!! Love your site by the way!

86 Kaci June 9, 2014 at 10:48 am

Hi! I`m new to couponing. I`m reading your site for the WalMart $1 deals.

How does this work? Are these current deals going on at walmart that do not need a coupon?

87 Dian June 10, 2014 at 9:17 am

The Walmart $1 and under deals do need coupons. The coupons are listed in the post under each product and price. For example say you saw:
Heinz Ketchup, 8oz – $1
use $1/1 Heinz Ketchup 3/2/14 SS (exp. 8/9/14)
Final: FREE

That would mean that at walmart 8oz Heinz Ketchup is $1 and you can use the $1 off 1 coupon that is found in the Smart Source coupon insert in the Sunday paper the week of 3/2/14 and you can get it for FREE after the coupon.
I hope that helps!.
If you’re interested we are starting a new set of FREE Online coupon classes tonight at 8 pm CST. Here’s the info if you’d like to attend and ask any questions you might have.

I hope that helps!

88 Misti June 13, 2014 at 11:21 pm

Hi I am new to this whole thing and I am confused. I was looking at the list and saw like the Brachs candy sale $1.68
-$1.50/1 Brachs product 12 oz or smaller (exp 8/01/14) RP 5/11

I was wondering is this a coupon that I need to get or how exactly do I do these? Thank you very much sorry for not understanding.

89 Dian June 14, 2014 at 11:23 am

Hi Misti and Welcome!

Yes the ones with underlines adn ones you can click on and print. The other ones are mostly found in the Sunday newspaper inserts (booklets). They are usually Smart Source (SS) Red Plum (RP) and or P&G. So, this means:
-$1.50/1 Brachs product 12 oz or smaller (exp 8/01/14) RP 5/11

There is a coupon for $1.50 off 1 Brach’s product that is 12 oz or smaller and the coupon expires 8/1/14 and can be found in the May 11, 2014 Red Plum Coupon Booklet found in the Sunday Newspaper from that week and if you use it, you can expect to pay just $0.18 for the Brach’s product!

I hope that helps! Be sure to ask anything else you need to!

90 Sarah W July 28, 2014 at 4:47 pm

What are all the abbreviations you use?

RP must be Red Plum

91 Dian July 28, 2014 at 5:43 pm

This should help: – that will give you all of the abbreviations :)
I hope that helps!
