12 Ways To Make Extra Money On The Side
Do you want to know how to make extra money on the side? We always wish we had more money and even dream of what we’d do with it.
For years I did everything I could to be able to stay home with my kids. I did telemarketing, babysat, house-sat, pet-sat (ALL the sitting – lol), temp work, business coaching, helped people use online tax software to complete their taxes, editing, consulting, started my own home repair project management company, was a Power Seller on eBay, and then a blogger, so I get it. Whatever it takes, right?
But when I started there was no way for me to make money online or find out about other opportunities that are available and much better these days.
We also often wish we knew how to make extra money from home as a side hustle to add income to the bottom line. Maybe we would buy the latest gadget, take a dream vacation, pay off debt, or just get in a better financial situation.
This post will show you 12 ways to make money on the side from home.
Every one of us can use a little more cash in our pockets. We also want to know how to make extra money fast, too.
There are always emergencies and unexpected situations that arise. Your child may need a new pair of shoes or your car broke down and needs to be repaired quickly.
A part-time job or side gig can be a good source of additional income, but busing tables, stocking at a grocery store, or delivering pizza just might not be your thing. There are so many ways to make extra income that you don’t have to do something that isn’t in your wheelhouse.
There are a bunch of ways to make extra money online or offline. There are plenty of unusual or out of the ordinary ways to make money.
1. Walk Some Dogs
Spread the word to your friends and family that you’re offering dog-walking services for a fee.
This is a good option, and a great side hustle if you love animals and want to make easy money. Plus, you get to make your own hours.
You can post your services on websites such as Thumbtack or Rover. You may also advertise on Craigslist or get in touch with local kennels to see if they need anyone to walk the dogs under their care.
You may also post your services to clean up after the dogs. There are some owners who are willing to pay someone to do the “dirty” work.
One great place to earn money is through babysitting. But did you know that you can house-sit, too?
Houses are quieter — they don’t run around, and they don’t need to be fed, lol. The best part is that it doesn’t take much effort.
You can also advertise locally for people who are willing to pay you to check on their houses when they’re gone. Maybe you could offer extra services, like vacuuming, pet sitting, or lawn mowing, as well.
3. Work As A Customer Service Representative
Whenever you’re calling a company’s 800 number, chances are, you may be speaking to someone sitting in the comfort of their own home in their pajamas.
This is a great way to earn fast cash. Online services and customer service jobs, in particular, are in high demand right now. They pay a decent amount of money, and you don’t need even a bachelor’s degree to qualify.
A lot of companies are outsourcing their customer calls to at-home representatives or homebred workers. Customer service is one of the top careers for remote workers to earn money on the side.
To start, you need a landline, a laptop, a noise-cancellation headset, and a quiet, child-free, and animal-free place. You also need to have an account on different marketplaces such as Upwork or Thumbtack to offer your services.
