Almost 80 Adult Education, Special Interest Classes Available in the Spring and Summer at the Dallas Arboretum
Registration is now open for all spring and summer adult education programs at the Dallas Arboretum including everything from gardening and design to creative arts and special interests courses, encouraging guests to grow their minds. With such a large variety of classes for almost any interest, programs sell out quickly. Guests are encouraged to register and secure their spot today.
One program features floral design consultant and expert in the industry, J Schwanke as he celebrates all things flowers at the Arboretum with a live demonstration and workshop on February 20. During the live demonstration in the morning Schwanke will show tips, tricks and inside techniques for flower arrangement, costing $50 for non-members or $45 for Members. In the afternoon workshop, participants will get hands-on instruction from Schwanke in designing their own fresh flower crowns, costing $140 for non-members or $126 for Members. Between the demonstration and workshop, Schwanke, author of “Flowers 365” and founder of UBloom.com, will have a book signing at 12 p.m.
With 80 different adult education classes to choose from in the spring and summer, programs begin February 6 and continue through June 18. Stay tuned for the announcement of more classes offered through the entire summer and year-round.

Photography classes include Shooting by Moonlight, DSLR Photography Basics, Best Shot with What You Got, Photographing Texas Wildflowers with Master Photographer Allen Rokach and Macro Photography Workshop.
Programs for those interested in creative arts include Fused Art Glass, Hobo Scarf, PMC Pendant, Mosaic Garden Gnomes, Beginning Watercolor En Plein Air, Easter Egg-Shaped Basket, Painting Brilliant Flowers, Mixed Media Mural, Watercolor Painting: The Rose, Paper Collage, Plein Air Painting, Glass Mosaics – Lamp, Plein Air Watercolor Workshop, Glass Mosaic Vase and Modern Calligraphy.
For those interested in beverage tastings, classes include Herman Marshall Whiskey Tasting, Savor the Arboretum – A Texas Twist, Wine Tastings with Times Ten Cellars and Around the World Wine Tasting with Urban Vines.
These classes include Giving the Gift of Chocolate – Valentine’s Edition, Seasonal Birds, Concrete Leaf Casting, Hip Girl’s Guide to Fermentation, Owl Prowl, Bottle Cutting, Day Trips from Dallas – Falster Farm, Organic Indigo – Natural Dye and Tillandsia Frames.
