Best Camping Recipes And Snacks!
Our family didn’t go on camping trips. The first time I ever went was with my older brother who went ALL the time.
He and his wife had all their supplies always packed and ready to go so they could take off at any time. We went in November in Texas, so the weather wasn’t unbearable, by any means. Also, I did catch the biggest fish… hmmm… I wonder if that’s why he’s never invited me again? lol
Another time we took our Youth Group camping in Tyler, Texas to Jesus GoFest (we were Youth Pastors for about 20 years or so). Our youngest was just a toddler in a playpen – but he had a blast.

The last night we were there we had stew that we had cooked beforehand and brought with us. This is a stew no one on that trip will ever forget.
As we were preparing the fire to heat up the stew, our oldest son was doing something with the older boys and stepped backward with his size 13 feet … right IN TO the stew…
We had no more food left, we were leaving the next morning…, so, everyone EXCEPT our oldest son chose to eat it anyway. I think he knew something about his shoes we didn’t… lol

I can’t think of another time I have gone since then, but, we always enjoyed our time when we did.
It’s a good time to get away and relax without all of the distractions of the world that keep us from looking up and talking to each other face to face.
These are some of the times you make the best family memories, you want your kids to have happy memories of times you were all together and just focused on each other for a time.

Just be sure to keep the food out of the range of 14 year old boys with size 13 feet!

Creative idea for making dinner when camping with the family. Our kids love this recipe both in the great outdoors and in the backyard.
You can find this recipe all over the internet, in many shapes and forms, and this version is my own preferential variation on the traditional recipe. It involves fewer ingredients and is easier to prepare over the variable temperature of the campfire, which is a MUST for campfire food.
Scrambled eggs, cheese and sausage links rolled and baked inside a corn tortilla. These Egg and Sausage Breakfast Taquitos are simple and delicious!
Grilled pineapple is one of my absolute favorite recipes for summer and fall. Pineapples are in season and typically very affordable at the store. Plus, we are all so busy finding sides and meat for our barbecues that we often resort to fruit salads instead of anything creative.

This easy Cheesy Ham and Egg Sandwiches recipe is very flexible. I often make this right after Easter to use of all the leftover hard-boiled eggs and ham from the holiday. You can mix up the filling and keep it in the fridge so it is ready for a quick weeknight dinner or weekend lunch.
This is such an easy recipe and it is super cheap too! I also love that we can change it up so we don’t get bored with the same casserole every stinking time. Some weekends I will add some sweet peppers and spinach instead of the bacon. I love this vegetarian option. You can also substitute sweet potatoes for the baking potatoes.
