Frequently Asked Question

“Dian, Thanks so much for the info… I am checking it out. I watched your latest video on your website. Great!
Hey, on the subject of coupons I have a question. On Twitter there is a person who advertises coupons, I clicked on the link and it took me to Ebay to purchase the coupons. Why would I pay for coupons + shipping? I know it is for the time to clip and sort the coupons, but…What am I missing here? It looks like people buy the coupons, Can she make back the money and time she spends?”

Hi! Dian, really like your sight. I have only been using coupons for a few weeks but I find some stores, well to-day it was KM and they said that I could only buy one item per coupon, I want to buy three advil nighttime at 3.98 with a coupon at 4 dollors off, I had 3 coupon but they said I could only buy one. Do you think that it is the cashier that made that rule or the store does’nt want coupons, like that is how you save is buying in bulk with coupons, could you or anyone that reads this help me out [email protected] Thanks

    Gordon,
On every coupo in the world there is a phrase “1 coupon per purchase”. Anytime an inexperienced cashier reads that they think it means 1 coupon per transaction. What it means is 1 coupon per item – so, I usually say “Right, I am purchasing this 1 with this coupon, and this one with this coupon, and so on.” They know you can use more than 1, but if it beeps and they don’t know why – that is the first thing they say!
If the register beeped in your case it was probably because your coupon was for more than the price of the item – in that case the cashier has to manually reduce the amount on the coupon. If the cashier doesn’t know how, I always ask for a manager. If all else fails I call customer service or a district manager until I find someone trained in coupons.
    I hope that helps!
    Thanks!

    Hi Dian,
Thanks for the video, this is one part 1 of my biggest Couponing question.

But part 2 is HOW do you know WHEN to buy? I figure it would take 3-7 days for the ebay auction to end, then another 3-7 days for the coupons to come in the mail. By then the deal at the store is over, and Ive got a ton of great value, but “unusable” coupons, since I can no longer apply them to the deal.

Do you just mass buy and HOPE that a deal comes along before they expire?

    Thank you!

In theory, it should work since you HAVE to buy one and the other is FREE – you should be able to buy the one with another coupon.
But, ultimately it will be up to the store on how the register handles it.
      Let us know!
      Thanks!

DIAN, I WATCHED YOUR VIDEO ABOUT EBAY AND PAYPAL. HOW MUCH DO I NEED TO START WITH AS A BEGINNER IN A ACCOUNT WITH PAYPAL? DO I HAVE TO USE MY BANK ACCOUNT TO OPEN UP A PAYAPL ACCOUNT? IF NOT COULD I JUST BUY A PAYAPL CARD OVER THE COUNTER AT A STORE? I REALLY JUST LIKE TO PURCHASE COUPONS WITH EBAY ALSO. THANKS :):):)

MILDRED » Thee is no minimum to open a Paypal account. You don’t have to have a bank account to open a paypal account but it does make it easier to move money around. You can purchase Green Dot cards and use that to load money in your Paypal account.
You can learn more at Paypal.com
      Thanks!
