New Dollar Tree Coupon Policy! – 12/02/2012
Dollar Tree posted a new coupon policy today. It looks to me like there’s only 1 real tweak to the policy and one other they highlighted.
There were two noticeable changes to me:
1. They bolded the part about not taking coupons with other retailers logo on it. So, they REALLY want you to be aware that if it shows a Walmart or Walgreens or any other retailer’s logo on it, they won’t take it.
2. This is the tweak: It used to say they would only take 2 internet printed coupons PER TRANSACTION. It now says 2 internet printed coupons per household PER DAY.
That means no checking out more than once.
Now, most stores will say they will take 2 “like” coupons in one transaction or something similar to that – meaning if I buy Hunt’s Ketchup – I can buy 2 identical bottles with 2 identical coupons and no more per transaction.
THIS, however, means you can only use 2 of any product, type, or kind of printable per household per day!
That’s a bit of overkill if you ask me.
I think this will change as time goes on – they are ironing out the wrinkles. They just started taking coupons a few months ago and don’t even have the ability to scan them, yet – they have to hand enter each one. So, while I do feel this is a crazy rule, I do feel as they get better and more well adjusted to taking coupons, this will change. Who knows, though, I may be wrong! lol
I have seen so many policies written in such a way that it makes sense to corporate but, not to us and cashiers. They write it the way they think it works, but, they don’t use them, so it doesn’t always translate.
What do you think?
