FAQ About Coupons: How Do I Know If I Have A Fake Coupon?
Sometimes you get a coupon from somewhere other than coupons.com, or Red Plum or places you normally get them from, I have gotten them in email before.
You may see one offered on a website or a Facebook page. How do you know if it’s not a fake?
What about one you find in the store near a product, or someone in a store hands you? The ones you get handed in the store by a stranger are usually fake. They hand you one that is fake and then wait to see if it works for you and if it does then they can use the ones they have. Keep that in mind, too.
But, there is a place you can check printed coupons to make sure they are not fake:

On most printable coupons there is a VERI-FI Code:
You can just go to the above link and enter the number on your coupon that is under that odd looking barcode and it will tell you if it is a valid coupon.
There may be a time someone in a store is just being nice leaving a coupon for someone else or handing you one to use. But, before you use it, check it out and make sure you don’t use a fake coupon by accident.
