Well, when they approached me about this, I had to think of something I had tried. I am passionate about keeping my weight down, I am not passionate about exercising. So, when I decided I had to lose the weight – I had to do it without exercising. I say that I had to do it without exercise, I mean that I knew if I committed to exercise as part of my weight loss, I would end up not exercising eventually and gaining any weight I lost as a result of exercising back.
So, I had to find a way to lose the weight without exercise so that I could keep it off. So, I had to Try Something New!
So, I decided on portion control and I got lots of help from a book a friend recommended and from the Dr. Oz show! The portion control and the tips in the book got me on my way and I started losing weight back in November of 2009 and I reached my body’s “happy” weight (because it stopped losing and I am eating less still – must be my happy weight!) about a year later!
Those are my before and after. The before was at my mother’s birthday 2 years ago and the after was in January – I was shopping for new clothes! I don’t take pics or have them taken of me often so this is all I had for after! lol
I have lost about 100 lbs! I stopped snoring, don’t have heartburn anymore, no more acid reflux, no more diabetes meds! Everything seems better and I am keeping the weight off with no effort because I eat less and my body doesn’t need all the excess I was feeding it!
So, don’t be afraid to Try Something New – I had tried many diets in my life – this one was serious, so I had to find what worked for me – not everything in the book I had worked for me and not everything other people recommended worked for me – so, I always tell anyone that asks – find what works for you – then it’s good and easy!
