Wait! What is Target Circle? What Does This Mean?
If you are into shopping and saving money at Target, chances are, you’re already aware of shopping apps.
One such app we have come accustomed to is the Target Cartwheel app – which is actually within the Target app. Personally I always thought Cartwheel was a weird name for a program for saving, but Circle at least fits better since that bullseye is the Target logo…

Anyway, much of the info in on how you use the Target Circle (formerly Target Cartwheel) program is the same but, there are a few differences and good additions. You can see our detailed Target Cartwheel (now known as Target Circle) tutorial here <—

What Is The Target Circle Rewards App?
Target Circle is the new Target Cartwheel. It is a loyalty program made for Target shoppers that will allow them to earn rewards by making purchases in any Target store.
You can sign up for Target’s Circle savings program <—- here.

This program now allows non-RedCard holders to earn rewards. Before only RedCard holders could earn certain rewards.
1% Target Circle Earnings Reward

As a member of Target Circle, every time you use a non-RedCard form of payment and identify yourself as a Target Circle member, you earn Target Circle Earnings rewards at a rate of 1% of the eligible purchase amount minus the value of any promotions, discounts, coupons and Target Circle Earnings reward redemptions.
Target Circle Earnings rewards can only be redeemed for merchandise or services at Target. Target Circle Earnings rewards have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash.
You will not earn Target Circle Earnings rewards on purchases if you use both a RedCard and a non-RedCard form of payment on a single purchase.
Target may provide Target Circle members and/or RedCard holders the opportunity to earn bonus Target Circle Earnings rewards. These opportunities may have terms and conditions in addition to or different from those provided in the Target Circle Terms. Unless otherwise stated, the Target Circle Terms will apply to any such opportunity.
Only purchases made at Target stores or online at Target.com or in the Target App are eligible to earn Target Circle Earnings rewards.
Redeeming Your Target Circle Rewards
When you’re ready to use your rewards they can be applied to your Target purchases. You can’t use just a portion of them on a transaction unless you have more than the transaction total. In that case the remaining balance will be left in your rewards account.
If your transaction is $5 and you have $5 in your rewards account and you only want to use $2.50 of your rewards, you won’t be allowed. The register will deduct the entire $5 from your rewards.
If your purchase is $5 and you have $15 in your rewards, then you can use $5 of your rewards and the remaining $10 will be left in your rewards account.
The Target Circle Earnings rewards will be applied to your transaction total after all other coupons and discounts have been applied. The only exception to this is if you use your RedCard to pay. The RedCard 5% Discount will be applied to your total after your Target Circle rewards have been removed.
Previous Balance
” For Target Circle members who had a 1% earnings balance as of 9/4/2019, the unspent earnings were transferred to an eGiftCard which can be found in your Target account or in the Wallet in the Target App.
The eGiftCard does not expire and can be redeemed for merchandise or services other than gift cards and prepaid cards at Target stores or on Target.com but cannot be redeemed for cash or credit except where required by law. View the eGiftCard for terms and conditions. “
It’s free to download on your mobile device or you can use it on your computer too.

This app allows you to get 5% up to 50% off on certain items that you purchase. You can scroll through the different offers within the program, choose the ones that you want, then once you start shopping at your nearest Target store, just show the bar code to the casher, they will scan it for you, and all the Target Circle deals are taken off right at the checkout counter.
Discover offers by:
- Browsing by category.
- Scanning items in store.
- Searching by keyword using your favorite brands.
No need to clip any coupons or bring several printed copies of your discount vouchers (unless you’re using your computer). All you need is to bring your smartphone, show it to the counter, and get to enjoy the discounts from your chosen items.
