Walmart corporate coupon policy.

Walmart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

  • Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
  • Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
  • Store coupons
  • Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
  • Internet coupons
  • Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:

  • Walmart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
  • Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Walmart will not accept expired coupons.
  • Internet coupons should be legible and say “Manufacturer Coupon.” There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
  • Only one coupon per item is permitted.
  • Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

Good luck getting the Walmart in Irving, TX on IH183 near the Esters exit to honor its corporate policy !! They apparently have all the customer base they need without honoring IP coupons. After several minutes trying to converse with them, I finally had the cashier to undo all my purchases that I had planned to use the IP coupons on.
After showing the corporate policy to the customer service ladies, they said corporate had just emailed them that week saying Walmart no longer accepts IP coupons. I, of couse, doubted that, but we couponers try to stay as nice as possible…..

    Hi Dian,
I am so grateful that you came to my rescue – I love your blog !
After driving to the Walmart in far North Irving to use my IPQs since Feb, I finally decided to check back with the Esters/183 location again last week. I had all my ducks in a row if they caused me grief this time. After the cashier warned me they could ONLY take coupons that scanned, she scanned them and, of course, they all properly scanned !
I finally walked out a happy camper…..thanks to you.

I HATE the Irving, (Esters) Walmart! I showed my checker the Walmart policy and she went to the podium where the “head checker/supervisor” has all their stuff and pulled a document and showed me where they were told they no longer accept internet coupons. I promptly came home, pulled up their policy to see if it had recently changed. Still the one I had in hand. ARGH!!!! It is worth it to me to drive further to get a more amiable shopping experience.

Do you know of any Irving couponers that are interested in getting together to swap coupons and deals? I would love to share some of my coupons that I will never use.

Brenda » Ok, I just got off the phone with that store. The Front End manager’s name is Jonni? Not sure how SHE spells it , but, it is pronounced Johnny. She said they DO take them – they just don’t take copies – DUH! LOL
But, she said she wished she knew who told you that. She said you could talk to her if needed when you shop there or tell them she said they do take them.
The North Irving store said they only take 1 internet coupon per like item. That, I will need to call corporate about, because if they managers are going to start making up their own rules, that needs to be said on the policy. Their policy doesn’t state that the rules are up to the manager’s discretion.
      I hope that heps!
